Ashley heeft een interview gehad met Metro.us over haar rol in “Burying the Ex”.

Ashley Greene is on NYC time during our phoner; she’s just in Canada shooting the TV series “Rogue,” on which she’s recently become a series regular. “She’s quite a character,” Greene tells us. “I feel like I always gravitate towards these crazy characters.” As it happens, she’s talking to us about “Burying the Dead,” where the crazy character is Evelyn, a 20-something accidentally killed then inexplicably revived as a zombie who plagues Max, her ex-boyfriend (Anton Yelchin). It’s the latest from Joe Dante, the horror-comedy god of “The Howling,” “Gremlins” and best of all “Gremlins 2: The New Batch,” and it’s also a showcase for the “Twilight” alum to go over the top — though not too over the top.

What draws you to crazy characters?
I don’t know. I think it’s opposites attract. I hope. It may be because it throws you into that realm of being able to lose yourself in a role and not really worry about coming off as crazy. Because it’s so far from who I am it just takes the pressure off. It’s almost like having a split personality.

You basically play a series of characters: Evelyn before the accident, then the various stages of decay as she gradually becomes a classic flesh-eater.
I had to make her as realistic as possible through her transition. I looked up bipolar disorder and issues surrounding that, because she has these severe mood swings. One minute she’s in la-la land and completely bubbly and happy; the next she’s enraged and can’t control her temper. I had to make her mood swings real to me.

Ashley heeft een interview gehad met Yahoo.com over het werken aan onafhankelijke film, hoe ze haar keuze maakt en eerdere keuzes.

When it comes to blockbuster film franchises, the Twilight saga is way up there as one of the most successful of all time, with Ashley Greene becoming a household name after starring as one of Robert Pattison’s sisters in the movie adaptation.

Despite the global success of Twilight, Ashley has opted to stick to more independent films as her glittering career soldiers on, and when we had an exclusive chat with the star ahead of the release of her new film, ‘Burying The Ex’, she told us exactly why she preferred the indie market.

“It’s definitely a lot more intimate, which is why I love independent films,” Ashley explains, “There is that experience of people definitely working as a team and trying to get the film made so it was nice to have that.

“It’s just really, really fun.”

Still, that doesn’t mean that the 28 year old doesn’t allow herself to be picky, adding: “I’m definitely selective with independents. The content is generally a bit more gritty and i think there’s a lot more left to chance.

“You’re definitely taking a leap of faith with independent films but I find them extremely rewarding. Everyone is putting their heart and soul into it and everyone is there for their love of the art and the film and not for any other reason.

“Sometimes they turn out great and sometimes they don’t and that’s something you have to be able to deal with as an actor…. There are some indie films that I have done that I probably wouldn’t have done as a bigger budget movie because I think you need that love.”

Alongside being generally very rewarding and awesome to work on, indie films also have other perks in the form of some of the brill eye candy that Ashley gets to surround herself with.

The gorge actress worked with Star Trek’s Anton Yelchin for Burying The Ex and told all on filming with the hunk, dishing: “It was really fun, Anton was a blast to work with.

“He made me giggle, it felt like we were in high school and that’s what you can really hope for. It was really great because it was quite crazy and the circumstances that the characters are in and the things that we were having to do on set as actors were crazy so he was really pleasant to work with.

“I also just finished working with James Franco, in a film about the hardship that took place with the apple pickers. It was definitely one of the heavier content, grittier films and it was really awesome to work with someone like James because he’s really talented and really interesting too.”

Ashley heeft een interview gehad met huffingtonpost.co.uk over beroemd zijn en haar nieuwe film ‘Burying The Ex’.

Ashley Greene finds the most surreal part of her celebrity is when fans literally pass out in front of her.

Ashley, who found worldwide fame with her role of vampire Alice Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ franchise, tells HuffPostUK of her her experience: “It’s pretty hard to wrap your head around the fact you have this much power through a project you were part of.

Ashley’s childhood did little to prepare her for this level of fame.

“I grey up on dirt roads, we were allowed only an hour of TV a day, so to see people that fanatic about something was just extraordinary to me. It’s a bit frightening, you worry about people and their health, whether they’re being stepped on. It’s all a bit concerning.”

Now Ashley and the others have put the enormous Twilight juggernaut to bed, she admits it can be difficult finding the right project to move on with.

“I don’t feel like I’m deliberately not being a vampire, but there’s something to be said about proving your versatility. It’s very easy for studio people to pigeonhole you without even trying, and I find independent film gives you more room to flex your acting muscles. And with indie films – you’re definitely doing it for the love, not the money. For me, the content is far more interesting than the size of the project.”

This week, however, finds Ashley hovering in the same field, playing a young woman, dumped by boyfriend Max, then traumatically killed, who returns as a zombie to torment her ex.

“I wasn’t looking to play a zombie,” she admits, “because I had been a vampire for so many years in my life. But this particularly appealed to me as quirky unique turn on classic zombie film. I laughed at the script, it affected me, once that happened, I decided to go for it.”

Ashley laughs when asked to defend her character, who was creating havoc for her weary boyfriend, even before she returns from the dead.

“Everything that happens is the result of her inability to face the issues between them,” she tries. “She is definitely extreme and controlling, Max is no angel either. “

‘Burying The Ex’ from director Joe Dante (‘Gremlins’, ‘Small Soldiers’, ‘Innerspace’) is available to download and view-on-demand in the UK and USA from 19 June 2015.

Ashley Greene can’t quite escape her famously befanged character, Alice, even years after the “Twilight” franchise has called it quits. With the resurrection of the films by way of the “The Storytellers” contest that will bring a handful of new “Twilight” universe short films to the world, Alice has once again been put center stage. Three of the six short films focus on Greene’s character, though she won’t reprise the role.

In an interview with MTV News ahead of the release of her new film “Burying the Ex,” Greene said that her role in the shorts would be that of happy audience member.

“I’ll likely be watching them, because I think, mehh, it’s someone else’s turn,” she said. “I did it for a very long time and you know when things end so well, you don’t want to go back and mess them up? I feel like that’s the position I’m in right now. I’m very happy with the character of Alice and people’s response to her so I think I’m going to let her be.”

As for why fans care about Alice enough to want to bring her back in the shorts, Greene said it’s that classic best friend appeal.

“She has a lot of spunk and sass and is this kind of mix of new and vintage and almost has a little bit of that Audrey Hepburn feel – and people are always fascinated with Audrey Hepburn, I know I am,” Greene said.

Not only that, but there’s still a lot of mystery to the character, despite her having been in the Cullen squad for four movies. Where did her powers come from, for example?

“I think there’s a lot to explore with Alice,” Greene said. “We never really got to explore her backstory and the relationship between Jasper and her and how she became this kind of clairvoyant and who she is. I get it. I was very, very drawn to Alice as well. I read the books and I became just as obsessed with them because I want to know more about this character.”

“Burying the Ex” hits theaters June 19.

Over a crazy-hard hike, Twilight star Ashley Greene talks getting strong without bulking up, staying body positive in a critical world—and actually liking to hear the word no.

“This is the part I was telling you about,” Ashley Greene says, pointing down at the canyon below. We’re hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, high above the fast-paced world of Hollywood, and the views at the top are stunning: clusters of lavish homes, lush trees and a blue sky that looks like it came straight out of a Crayola box.

It doesn’t hurt that it’s a perfect, 84-degrees-and-sunny California day, and that up here, it’s just us, a dusty trail and a few random hikers who don’t seem to recognize that there’s a movie star in their midst. There are also no paparazzi—only a guy and his big, fluffy dog, which Ashley (who has four dogs of her own) stops to pet. “Hey, cutie,” she says, scratching the dog’s head before heading back uphill.

This hiking trail, located less than 10 minutes from her home, is a regular part of the 28-year-old’s fitness regimen and a place she comes to clear her head. “Part of working out for me is having the ability to break away from all the stresses of the day,” she says. “Up here, it’s so pretty—you feel like you’re not in L.A. at all.” Then she adds with a laugh, “Don’t give away the location!”

It makes sense that sporty Ashley—who, fittingly, is the face of Oakley women’s eyewear—needs a private escape from the daily pressures of her acting career. In 2005, when she was just 17, she left her mom, dad and brother in Jacksonville, Fla., and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. In 2007, she hit the jackpot by landing her best-known role to date: Alice Cullen in the Twilight saga, a part she went on to play in five blockbuster movies released over five years. In her latest film, Burying the Ex, she plays Evelyn, a girlfriend from hell “who also happens to be a zombie. Evelyn just takes it to the extreme,” she says—and when it comes to her workouts, so does Ashley, considering that an hour and a half into our hike, she has barely broken a sweat.

Ashley heeft met het britse online magazine FlavourMag een interview gehad over haar laatst uitgekomen film ‘Burying The Ex’.

Ashley Greene is most famous for her role as Alice Cullen in Twilight, which actually made her an instant star but since the end of this franchise Ashley has starred in a number of TV shows and Films.

Her new film, Burying The Ex, which is a comedy horror, see’s her coming back from the dead to be with the man she loves.

We got the chance to have a very brief chat with Ashley about her new film and what it was like being a part of one of the biggest teen romance franchises in Twilight.

We are about to see you in the comedy, horror Burying the Ex where you play Evelyn, a psychotic overbearing ex-girlfriend who comes back from the dead and gives your ex hell! Why did you pick this role?

It was absolutely something I had never done even remotely close to it. With a storyline like this I think with Evelyn you get to play a Jekyll and Hyde and you get to play both extremes with this character. For me it was really fun to take someone who is hard strong and is maybe overbearing but kind of ground her and give people the sense that she does have a good heart, the things she is doing is more out of insecurities than having any malice towards anyone. That was really interesting for me and I think the melding of a kind of quirky comedy and a horror film is something you don’t see a lot, it was a really interesting and unique storyline. Playing the zombie that isn’t just this kind of mindless brain eating monster, Evelyn kind of evolves into this zombie, this is something I had not done been before. I was really excited to be able to bring that to life.

Evelyn is a bit of an obsessive clean/recycling freak, well until she gets a taste for brains, how much of yourself did you bring to the role?

(Laughs) I have the ability to be like that at times, obviously not as extreme. Because she can have such quick switches and flips, from a really sweet loving girlfriend to being this kind of enraged animal. I spent some time doing some research on that and trying to figure out what makes these people the way they are.

What was it like working with the legendary director Joe Dante?

Everyone has heard of Gremlins, so being able to work with a director who created something like that was exciting to me. He and I sat down and had a long lunch and talked about his film and his vision and what I thought was appropriate for the character. He is such a calm, collected sweet, sweet man who immediately made me feel extremely comfortable and I could see the love for what he did in the way that he spoke about this project. After being with him I was like I need to work with this man. It was really such a lovely experience on set. He immediately created this safe environment for us and, of course, had this strong vision for the film that was really open to us collaborating any ideas that myself or Anton or Alexandra had for all of our characters.

Did you manage to have fun on set?

Well I think Anton and I and Alexandra are all young at heart so we had a lot of fun together, we acted like we were still at high school (laughs). I think because of the nature of the film and that it’s just so crazy and outrageous that it was just very light-hearted set.

Your big break came in the form of Alice Cullen in Twilight! What does it feel like to be part of one of biggest teen romance franchises in the 21st century?

(Laughs) it definitely it’s still kind of like mind boggling. It’s been a while since we wrapped it and we obviously were a part of it for 5 or 6 years. It was a large portion of my life out here. It really is still crazy to think about it, it’s something I never in my wildest dreams could even think would happen. I’ve never seen another film affect people the way that Twilight did, so to be a part of that it was just incredible. It’s something I am sure will never happen again (laughs). It was thrilling, at some point we were filming with so many places to go if we weren’t on set we were travelling doing press and travelling around the world. At some points gruelling but it was just one of those things where you just go for it because you know you’re not going to get this opportunity again.

When you first signed up for it did you ever imagine it would be as big as it was?

No, I don’t think anyone did. We were doing like an independent film on the first one, Then all of a sudden it just snowballed into this humongous franchise. I don’t think any of us were quite ready for it. I knew going into it something felt special about it and I knew the effect the books had on me and that the books did quite well and that was the reason we were able to make this film but no I had absolutely no idea it would turn into what it did.

Has that opportunity opened many more doors for you?

Absolutely, I think anyone who did Twilight has created huge pedestals to jump off of. It was essentially my first job really, I did a couple of day player roles on televisions shows, but it was my first time being on a movie set and then you take into account what it turned into and what happened and it was just like a crazy reality I guess. There certainly is that Twilight stigma that came along with it as that’s what everyone knows what skyrocketed into fame and into the spotlight that’s definitely what we were known for, for 5 years. So it’s kind of hard to get out of that shadow, but you have to look at it and say I wouldn’t have so many of the opportunities that I have if I hadn’t of done that film.

I read somewhere that you would love to play a superhero, what would be your dream role to play and why?

I really want someone to come out with a very strong female-driven action type superhero film. I just released a Batman Arkham Night video game, So I think it would be fun to be in a Batman film for sure.

I can see you as a Catwoman

Right, I think Michelle Pfieffer did a pretty stand up job, I don’t know if I could take over that (Laughs)

What else has 2015 got in store for you?

So where about to release the new Batman video game that I played Oracle in so that’s going to be coming out which is really exciting to be a part of. I just finished a film called In Dubious Battle with James Franco so hopefully you can look forward to seeing that soon.

Burying the Ex is available to download and view-on-demand in the UK and USA from June 19th 2015.

As the two enjoy their exotic, multi-locale honeymoon following their April 26 nuptials, Reed’s former Twilight costar, Ashley Greene, can confirm that the couple are basically perfect for each other.

“I’m so excited for her,” Greene, 28, told PEOPLE at an event for Love Is Louder, which was hosted by Bioré, in Los Angeles on Wednesday. “I saw her at Coachella and she was just glowing, and now, I mean, I get why. She’s just so happy. That’s what you have to find in life and when you do find it, I think you should run with it and I think that’s what she did.”

Greene went on to admit that it’s true the couple have not been together for very long – they were first spotted together last July and became engaged in February – but said that doesn’t really matter: “When you know, you know. I’m ecstatic for her.”

Somerhalder, 36, and Reed, 26, work so well together because “they’re both extremely passionate people who care very deeply about whatever it is they choose to put their time and energy into,” said Greene. “I feel like they must connect on that level. I think that they are both lovers of life and that they see the beauty in the very small things.

“Ian’s really, really big into the world around him,” Greene explained. “And animals. They have so many animals! I’m like, ‘Dude, I have four dogs and I thought that was bad.’ Geez. They have a horse, they have a couple of dogs … but, yeah. I think just the love of life is probably one of the core [things] bringing them together.”
