Afgelopen week is aangekondigd dan ‘Twilight’ schrijfster Stephanie Meyer samen met Netflix werkt aan een animatieserie gebasseerd op het boek ‘Midnight Sun’. Dit boek verteld het verhaal van ‘Twilight’ vanuit het perspectief van vampier Edward i.p.v. Bella. Het is voor nu nog niet bekend hoever de ontwikkelingen zijn en wanneer we de serie kunnen verwachten op de streamingsdienst. De hoop van fans is dat (een gedeelte van) de originele cast de stemmen van hun personages uit de film zal inspreken, vooralsnog is hier nog geen berichtgeving over geweest en is het dus afwachten of Ashley deel zal uitmaken van dit project.

Midnight Sun, Stephenie Meyer’s 2020 companion novel to her best-selling book series Twilight, is set to be adapted into a forthcoming animated series, which is currently in development. A retelling of the first entry in the Twilight story, Midnight Sun unfolds entirely from the perspective of Edward Cullen, the captivating, and yes, extremely sparkly vampire who catches a young Bella Swan’s attention.

The Twilight series, of course, spawned a multi-billion film franchise starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as the central couple of the title film and continuing with the four others in the saga — New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn Part 1, and Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Meyer will serve as executive producer of Midnight Sun with her Fickle Fish Films partner Meghan Hibbett, alongside Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen for Temple Hill Entertainment, and Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey for Picturestart. Sinead Daly (Tell Me Lies, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Raised by Wolves, and The Get Down) will also executive produce and write the series.
