Ashley heeft een interview gehad met huffingtonpost.co.uk over beroemd zijn en haar nieuwe film ‘Burying The Ex’.

Ashley Greene finds the most surreal part of her celebrity is when fans literally pass out in front of her.

Ashley, who found worldwide fame with her role of vampire Alice Cullen in the ‘Twilight’ franchise, tells HuffPostUK of her her experience: “It’s pretty hard to wrap your head around the fact you have this much power through a project you were part of.

Ashley’s childhood did little to prepare her for this level of fame.

“I grey up on dirt roads, we were allowed only an hour of TV a day, so to see people that fanatic about something was just extraordinary to me. It’s a bit frightening, you worry about people and their health, whether they’re being stepped on. It’s all a bit concerning.”

Now Ashley and the others have put the enormous Twilight juggernaut to bed, she admits it can be difficult finding the right project to move on with.

“I don’t feel like I’m deliberately not being a vampire, but there’s something to be said about proving your versatility. It’s very easy for studio people to pigeonhole you without even trying, and I find independent film gives you more room to flex your acting muscles. And with indie films – you’re definitely doing it for the love, not the money. For me, the content is far more interesting than the size of the project.”

This week, however, finds Ashley hovering in the same field, playing a young woman, dumped by boyfriend Max, then traumatically killed, who returns as a zombie to torment her ex.

“I wasn’t looking to play a zombie,” she admits, “because I had been a vampire for so many years in my life. But this particularly appealed to me as quirky unique turn on classic zombie film. I laughed at the script, it affected me, once that happened, I decided to go for it.”

Ashley laughs when asked to defend her character, who was creating havoc for her weary boyfriend, even before she returns from the dead.

“Everything that happens is the result of her inability to face the issues between them,” she tries. “She is definitely extreme and controlling, Max is no angel either. “

‘Burying The Ex’ from director Joe Dante (‘Gremlins’, ‘Small Soldiers’, ‘Innerspace’) is available to download and view-on-demand in the UK and USA from 19 June 2015.

Ashley Greene can’t quite escape her famously befanged character, Alice, even years after the “Twilight” franchise has called it quits. With the resurrection of the films by way of the “The Storytellers” contest that will bring a handful of new “Twilight” universe short films to the world, Alice has once again been put center stage. Three of the six short films focus on Greene’s character, though she won’t reprise the role.

In an interview with MTV News ahead of the release of her new film “Burying the Ex,” Greene said that her role in the shorts would be that of happy audience member.

“I’ll likely be watching them, because I think, mehh, it’s someone else’s turn,” she said. “I did it for a very long time and you know when things end so well, you don’t want to go back and mess them up? I feel like that’s the position I’m in right now. I’m very happy with the character of Alice and people’s response to her so I think I’m going to let her be.”

As for why fans care about Alice enough to want to bring her back in the shorts, Greene said it’s that classic best friend appeal.

“She has a lot of spunk and sass and is this kind of mix of new and vintage and almost has a little bit of that Audrey Hepburn feel – and people are always fascinated with Audrey Hepburn, I know I am,” Greene said.

Not only that, but there’s still a lot of mystery to the character, despite her having been in the Cullen squad for four movies. Where did her powers come from, for example?

“I think there’s a lot to explore with Alice,” Greene said. “We never really got to explore her backstory and the relationship between Jasper and her and how she became this kind of clairvoyant and who she is. I get it. I was very, very drawn to Alice as well. I read the books and I became just as obsessed with them because I want to know more about this character.”

“Burying the Ex” hits theaters June 19.

Over a crazy-hard hike, Twilight star Ashley Greene talks getting strong without bulking up, staying body positive in a critical world—and actually liking to hear the word no.

“This is the part I was telling you about,” Ashley Greene says, pointing down at the canyon below. We’re hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, high above the fast-paced world of Hollywood, and the views at the top are stunning: clusters of lavish homes, lush trees and a blue sky that looks like it came straight out of a Crayola box.

It doesn’t hurt that it’s a perfect, 84-degrees-and-sunny California day, and that up here, it’s just us, a dusty trail and a few random hikers who don’t seem to recognize that there’s a movie star in their midst. There are also no paparazzi—only a guy and his big, fluffy dog, which Ashley (who has four dogs of her own) stops to pet. “Hey, cutie,” she says, scratching the dog’s head before heading back uphill.

This hiking trail, located less than 10 minutes from her home, is a regular part of the 28-year-old’s fitness regimen and a place she comes to clear her head. “Part of working out for me is having the ability to break away from all the stresses of the day,” she says. “Up here, it’s so pretty—you feel like you’re not in L.A. at all.” Then she adds with a laugh, “Don’t give away the location!”

It makes sense that sporty Ashley—who, fittingly, is the face of Oakley women’s eyewear—needs a private escape from the daily pressures of her acting career. In 2005, when she was just 17, she left her mom, dad and brother in Jacksonville, Fla., and moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. In 2007, she hit the jackpot by landing her best-known role to date: Alice Cullen in the Twilight saga, a part she went on to play in five blockbuster movies released over five years. In her latest film, Burying the Ex, she plays Evelyn, a girlfriend from hell “who also happens to be a zombie. Evelyn just takes it to the extreme,” she says—and when it comes to her workouts, so does Ashley, considering that an hour and a half into our hike, she has barely broken a sweat.

Lorne Michaels produced the Colin Jost-scripted film, which co-stars Bobby Moynihan and Cecily Strong

Netflix is finalizing a deal with Paramount Insurge for the “SNL”-packed comedy “Staten Island Summer” to debut exclusively on the popular streaming service this July, an individual with knowledge of the situation has told TheWrap.

Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn produced the indie movie, which “Saturday Night Live” veteran Rhys Thomas directed from a script by “Weekend Update” anchor Colin Jost, who also has a small part in the coming-of-age film.

A representative for Netflix did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Graham Phillips (“The Good Wife”) and Zack Pearlman (“Mulaney”) star as best friends and recent high school graduates who decide to work as lifeguards during the summer while they figure out their future. The film is reportedly based on Jost’s own experience as a young lifeguard in New York.

Ashley Greene (“Twilight”) and John DeLuca (“Teen Beach Movie”) co-star alongside “SNL” alums Bobby Moynihan, Will Forte, Fred Armisen and Cecily Strong, as well as comedian Jim Gaffigan, rapper Method Man and young Jackson Nicoll (“Bad Grandpa”).

The movie also features cameos from Kate Walsh (“Private Practice”) and Gina Gershon (“Killer Joe”).

“Staten Island Summer” will debut on Netflix on July 30, according to insiders. The movie is the latest addition to Netflix’s impressive comedy stable, which now includes “Arrested Development” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” as well as the upcoming limited series “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp,” the feature “Pee-wee’s Big Holiday” from producer Judd Apatow, Ricky Gervais’ movie “Special Correspondents” and “The Ridiculous 6,” which is the first film under Netflix’s four-picture deal with Adam Sandler — another “SNL” alum.

Film finance and production company Sculptor Media has been formed to finance and produce independent commercial film and television projects, starting with the thriller “Urge,” starring Pierce Brosnan, Ashley Greene (“Twilight”), and Alexis Knapp (“Pitch Perfect 2”).

Sculptor’s CEO Warren Goz made the announcement Tuesday. Based in New York City and Los Angeles, Goz said Sculptor has been newly funded by an unnamed New York City-based private equity firm, which is providing single picture film finance.

Eric Gold is the head of development and production and based in Los Angeles.

“Urge,” currently in post-production, is directed and co-written by Aaron Kaufman and produced by Goz, Gold and Andrew Mann. The film was shot in New York City and follows a group of young friends who, during an island holiday, experiment with a new designer drug that perilously diminishes one’s ability to control destructive urges.

Goz co-founded Grand Army Entertainment in 2005 and financed several hundred million dollars of television and film production. Mann is Sculptor’s consulting executive producer following a career in production and film finance that has spanned two decades.
